Overview
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at [College Name] is dedicated to promoting and nurturing an innovative mindset among students, faculty, and staff. In collaboration with Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MoEIC), the IIC drives initiatives that help students become active contributors to the Start-up Ecosystem while also focusing on research and development (R&D), intellectual property rights (IPR), and innovation-based entrepreneurship.
Objectives of the IIC
- Foster a Culture of Innovation: Encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving among students and faculty.
- Support Start-ups and Entrepreneurs: Provide mentorship, funding, and resources to students interested in starting their own ventures.
- Promote Research and Development (R&D): Support innovative projects, prototypes, and solutions that can lead to tangible outcomes.
- Industry Collaboration: Facilitate partnerships with industry experts, startups, and other institutions to promote knowledge exchange and practical learning.
- Awareness of IPR: Educate the campus community about Intellectual Property Rights, patents, and copyrights to protect innovative ideas.
- Organize Innovation Competitions: Conduct hackathons, idea pitching events, and startup competitions to stimulate creativity and innovation.

Key Activities of the IIC
The IIC at MES Engineering College organizes and supports a wide range of activities to create an innovation-driven ecosystem:
1. Innovation and Idea Development Workshops
- Workshops to train students and faculty on how to transform ideas into workable solutions, focusing on creativity, prototyping, and the initial stages of innovation.
2. Start-up Incubation and Mentorship
- Mentorship Programs: Successful entrepreneurs, industry experts, and alumni guide and mentor aspiring student entrepreneurs.
- Startup Incubation: Providing support for student start-ups, including workspace, funding, and access to a network of investors and industry leaders.
3. Industry-Academic Partnerships

4. Exposure to Innovation Ecosystems

How to Get Involved
Students, faculty, and staff interested in contributing to the innovation ecosystem at MES Engg. College can get involved by:
- Joining the IIC: Interested students can apply to be part of the IIC as student representatives. Faculty can also contribute by mentoring student-led projects.
